Need suggestions...buy my own server? what's best?

ok, don't get me wrong my hosts are great, both free hosts...love em to death, which is why i'm doing this

I've finally outgrown the free host stage with my sites and they are taking up too much of the resources

It's time to move away from them and into my own...but i've no idea where to begin!

Do I just buy my own server and say screw it! What's a dedicated server? Do I go for shared hosting? But I think even with shared hosting I'm going to run into the same issue!

I'm thinking my own server would be the best option and place all of my sites onto it....

Anyways I'm open for options, I have 4 sites so i'm guessing to put them all onto one server i'm going to need something with at least:
2 GB of Disk Space (and later more)
20 GB of Bandwidth
unlimited subdomains/emails/ftps/dbs/ect
php w/GLib
cpanel

yes i know that's low for a server lolol, but that's my minimum hehe so anything over is all good

I think you don't need any dedi box, that is too costly for few sites. And same for VPS too. I own a VPS that takes $70 per months.

You should go with a reseller package, Hostgator is ideal for you IMO

thanks...after talking over with my main host, they have no problem with my sites being there for now...it's nothing that the server can't handle
i just hate feeling like i'm a leech lol...i've already had them bump my account up several times (even though i'm an admin there lol) well above the normal standard highest package...

but thank you Shabu i'm still keeping my options open because one day my Foamy site will need it's own server (think big hehehe)

you can use share hosting for hosting many sites...

The best choice is VPS .But it is a little expensive .Or you can check out for some resellers

If you're looking for a dedicated server, so far the best was Softlayer, they maybe a bit pricey but the service is excellent as well as the customer service. You get the value of money you paid for.
