What Would You Do If You Found Money?

ok well today has been an interesting day...it seems today is the day for money!

The day began with a gentleman at work that swore the ATM gave him an extra $20, he had no money in his wallet, which is why he had to use the ATM. After I verified the ATM, all the money was accounted for, so for his honesty, he got $20 kinda nice eh? Would you be so honest?
*though even though he was honest, lmfao he didn't want to give the money back, just wanted to make sure that the ATM wasn't broke and it did it to everyone!*

I got another check from Adbrite and had a few other checks that I had to deposit, so after work I ran over to the bank.
While in the bank I found $250 asked the teller about it and she said it was mine sweet

I still feel kinda, i donno wrong but i guess I should be happy...i guess i'm feeling bad, cuz well that's quite a bit of money and I know someone's really that they lost it....
but then what am i gonna do, I can't prove who's it was and call them or something....

So what would you do if you found any amount of money just lying around? Be it $5 or $500....

[edit] or what would you do if you found a blank check that was signed and dated...would you try to cash it, what amount would you put on there....lol i guess i'm asking at what price would you be tempted
At my work, I find people credit cards, blank checks, other personal items all the time and I always try to find them or I call the bank that it belongs to to let them handle the situation!

Personally I don't touch any money or whatever I found in road or in market place.

I believe - "If you found $1 and used it, you will lose $1x10=$10"

cell phones, entire wallets, car keys (??? still haven't figured out how they drove home yet though), gas caps lolol I think the only thing i haven't seen yet is someone leaving their kid....

Seriously speaking, everyone's first preference to find the actual owner (in any case) and try to send that money to its right owner.

The 2nd thing you can do is to give it to charity or similar cause. May be help someone with it. It's better than using it yourself and having a drink or launch etc etc.

lastly, if you decide to use it urself, well.... no problem in it if you did try your best to find the owner. BUT don't make it a habit

But the interesting point will be to see who is going to leave who? .. I mean, parents leave children or children leave parents ...

I'll definitely look for the owner first. It's hard to earn one! it's a guilt feeling to spend something not yours...
But in some instances - it's impossible to find the rightful owner - then it must be something really meant for you, so invest the money and double the profit.

If I don't know who the owner is, I will probably spend it. Probably would wait couple of days before I spend it.
